What is the scope of Mechatronics in future job prospects?

At present all manufacturing and production sectors all over India and abroad are witnessing a huge requirement of Mechanical Engineers due to the high manufacturing and production of equipment/items. In this modern era of technology, all manufacturing and production of types of equipment/items are being done with help of automation. Automation has enormous benefits, such as high accuracy, faster rates of production, high quality, etc., and automation is done through Mechatronics. Now, let us understand the revolution of Mechatronics.

What is Mechatronics?

Mechatronics is the branch of engineering that is developed by integrating the core technologies of Mechanical EngineeringElectronics & Communication Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering. This is the branch that brought a revolutionary change in the automation industry. The concepts of robotics, 3D printing and manufacturing, and Artificial Intelligence can now exist due to the combined studies and research in the
field of all the above-mentioned Engineering disciplines.

How can a Mechanical Engineer benefit from this?

As in the ever-evolving technological industry, the use of conventional machine tools is getting absolute from the manufacturing and services sector. This is being overtaken by smart machines, which can think for themselves and take decisions according to a program. So, to be in this competition and such a growing market, a Mechanical Engineer is constantly enhancing his skills from classical to modern technology.

What is the Future Scope of Mechatronics?

The future of Mechatronics is very promising, due to the evolution of artificial intelligence, and automation development. Now we will be able to use the machines and processes more efficiently.

What are the Career Opportunities for Mechanical Engineering students?

Career opportunities in Mechanical Engineering are always versatile and ever-growing as follows:

  • Students can work in any manufacturing industry in its production, design, maintenance department.
  • Students can work in the design industry and help the company in the development of new products and models.
  • Students can work in a research field where he/she could contribute in developing the technology further.
  • A great benefit of this technology is that the student has a good understanding of interdisciplinary Engineering streams, and he/she can choose a versatile career for himself/herself.

What are the salary expectations?

Just like other job opportunities in this stream, the student can grab a job having a CTC anywhere between 2LPA to 10 LPA, depending on opportunities in hand, but a steep rise in career is noticed among the students in the past. If you have a curiosity for how things work around you, have a passion for learning new things which will amaze you every day of your career, and if you are ready to put in efforts, then you are thinking in the right way, this branch is definitely for you. Come join us, let’s work together for making your future bright.

What are we providing?

We at the Department of Mechanical Engineering provide rigorous training to students from the 2nd year onwards. This includes trainings in various programming languages, and training in special electronic devices, which helps students to incorporate such skills in their core field of Mechanical Engineering.
