India is a great country of different cultures, traditions, religions, castes and geographical characteristics. It shares a strong, rich and wealthy history with the world. But when it comes to women, the scenario is no different as compared to other male-dominant countries. Up to years before millennium women were limited to households and have been puppets with the strings in the hands of male dominance. Even after so many years of independence, these practices are still exists in Indian Society. Thus this unequal, brutal behaviour towards women encourages the “Women Empowerment”. Women Empowerment is enabling women exercise full control over her owns actions and freedom to choose things that influences her. According to the Corporate Gender Gap report brought out by the World Economic Forum, India has the lowest percentage of women employees (23%), followed by Japan (24%), Turkey (26%) and Austria (29%). Women must be handed equality to select their interest of work and deliver their duties honestly. Authorities must be open to women providing them opportunities to substantiate themselves on a par with the men.
Sagar Institute of Science and Technology [SISTec] also supports women empowerment at workplace. The big and live example is Dr. Jyoti Deshmukh, Principal SISTec-Ratibad. She is strongly holding the flag of SISTec-Ratibad from last 6 years. The college is providing a safe and healthy work culture for female staff and students under her supervision.
There are various NGOs and government organizations working together to strengthen the position of women in society. But we must know that possession of women not only can be upgraded by conducting and organizing different activities, but to educate the men for the same.
